Question: Suppose if I give my wife one talaq by word Insha Allah with the niyah of rejoining we are getting separated, and after that she is not fulfilling iddah. everyother day we are together. We are involved in sexual activity too. I found that that talaq is not valid. So to avoid doubt I said in my heart that I did rujoo in presence of Allah with my wife ( I took name and said daughter of Muhammad Iqbal). Will this talaq be issued? After sexual relationship is our marriage reconcieled automatically?
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
A: The rujoo is valid.
And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Terms Used In the Article and Their Meanings;
Iddah - The iddah is a waiting period that a Muslim woman observes after the death of her husband or after a divorce.
Rujoo - When one or two direct Talaaqs are given and the husband wishes to reconcile with the wife, he can do so during the Iddat period in one of two ways; 1. he can verbally say that he has taken her back, 2. there is some form of intimacy between them (not necessary sexual intercourse). One of these two points if done brings her back in the Nikah, but has to be done within the Iddat period and this procedure is referred to as Rujoo’ i.e. revoking the Talaaq.
